Industry Brings Happiness

Once there lived an old farmer who had two sons. They were very young and energetic. But they were very idle. They used to only gossip with each other. They did not work at all. Their father was very worried about them. He did not know how to make them work. “I should do something to make them work,” the farmer said to himself.

One day he hit upon a plan. Then, he called his two sons to his bedside and said to them, “My sons, I have laid a hidden treasure in our cornfield. Go and dig the treasure up.” The sons rushed to the field at once. They dug up the field but found no treasure there and became hopeless. They sat down together and took a rest for a while. 

“We should not leave the field all dug up,” one of them said to the other. “We may plant some corn here,” another replied. Then they together planted the field with corn. After a few days, golden corn came out which brought a smile to their face. They then understood the meaning of the hidden treasure of their father. From then they continued to work hard. Over the course of time, they became rich in that village
